Friends of Childwall Woods and Fields have been granted funding by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government under their new initiative High Street Community Cleanup.
With the funding, FCWF has bought equipment to carry out litter picking, not just in the woods and fields but also on the streets next to them. There will also be funds for leaflets and posters as well as upgrading the noticeboard at the Childwall Lane entrance to the woods.
The regular litter picks have been expanded to take in Childwall Lane and Countisbury Drive on 14th April which was a great success Both groups picked litter down the street then headed into the woods and fields on the usual litter pick. stopping for refreshments provided by FCWF. The May litter pick was on Sunday 12th May and included Childwall Abbey Rd and the Childwall Triangle before heading into the woods for the regular litter pick.
